MCF Corporate Finance welcomes Professor Klaus Rauscher, a former CEO of Vattenfall Europe, as a new member of its advisory council

Hamburg, January 2009 – MCF Corporate Finance, one of the leading independent advisory firms for domestic and international mid-market M&A transactions, has strengthened its advisory council by appointing Professor Klaus Rauscher, ex CEO of Vattenfall Europe AG.

As CEO of Vattenfall Europe AG until 2007, Professor Rauscher was responsible for the repositioning and reorganisation of the Vattenfall Group after the acquisitions of German energy providers HEW, BEWAG, VEAG and LAUBAG, which commenced in 2002.

Prior to his work for Vattenfall, Professor Rauscher held senior managerial positions in the financial sector for many years: initially in the Bavarian Ministry of Finance and the Minister-President's Office and eventually in the management board of Bayern LB for ten years.

“We are very happy to welcome Professor Rauscher to our advisory council, with his extensive network and international working experience.  He will undoubtedly make a valuable contribution to our organisation and, in particular, to our M&A activity in the international utilities sector, which will continue to grow with onward deregulation“, said Hans-Christoph Stadel, managing partner of MCF Corporate Finance in Hamburg.
