In this transaction MCF advised the owners of the UK\u2019s leading pallet manufacturer and supplier Scott Group on their sale to the integrated forestry group, BSW Timber Limited (\u201cBSW\u201d), a member of Austrian-based Binderholz.<\/p>\n
With the acquisition of Scott Group, BSW Group now employs 3,000 people across the sector, and has an annual turnover of approximately \u00a3900m, with Binderholz Group turnover reaching almost \u20ac2.8bn.<\/p>\n
Based near Dunfermline in Scotland, with an annual turnover in excess of \u00a3250m and 1,300 employees, Scott Group is an award-winning, sustainable manufacturer of new, bespoke, and reconditioned timber pallets, producing over 30 million pallets per year.<\/p>\n
The Scott Group was founded in 1987 and operates across 32 sites, from Shetland to Devon, working with customers to promote the circular economy, which is emphasised by its pallet recovery, repair and reuse service, while it also operates a timber sourcing arm in Latvia.<\/p>\n
BSW Group is the leading integrated forestry group in the UK with six operating divisions, including tree nurseries, forestry, harvesting, sawmilling, timber manufacturing and energy. The group has six sawmills across the UK \u2013 in Southampton, Newbridge-on-Wye, Carlisle, Dalbeattie, Petersmuir and Fort William \u2013 and supplies certified sawn timber for a wide range of industries and uses.<\/p>\n
