Dr Sven Harmsen

Sven Harmsen joined MCF in 2023 as Partner and Head of Industrials. He is a recognised sector expert with over two decades of M&A experience.

Throughout his career, Sven has advised on more than 50 transactions, including the sale of SimonsVoss to Allegion, the sale of Plumettaz to Invision, the acquisition of Semecs and Syncron for SERO/DBAG, and the acquisition of Starline Pools for Chemoform. Furthermore, he advised Maxburg Capital Partners on the sale of GfS Gesellschaft für Sicherheit GmbH to Assa Abloy AB and NürnbergMesse Group on the acquisition of WEKA Fachmedien. Sven brings deep sector expertise in Electronic Manufacturing Services and Safety & Security Products.

Prior to joining MCF, he served as Managing Director and Head of Industrials Germany at Alantra. Before that, he was Managing Director in the European Industrials division at Raymond James, following over ten years at the investment bank Robert W. Baird and seven years at Drueker & CP./Leonardo & Co. (now Houlihan Lokey).

Sven holds a Master’s degree (Dipl-Ing) in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technical University of Berlin, a Master of Management Studies from Carleton University in Ottawa, and a Dr. rer. pol. from Humboldt University Berlin.
