MCF acted as financial adviser to Applus+ Group on the sale of K1 Katsastajat Oy, a Finnish vehicle inspection services provider, to A-Katsastus Group

K1 Katsastajat Oy (“K1 Katsastus”), a leading Finnish vehicle inspection services company, has been acquired by A-Katsastus Group (“A-Katsastus”) from Applus+ Group (Applus+). Through this divestment, Applus+ exits the Finnish market to concentrate on its strategic presence in other countries. In this transaction, MCF advised Applus+ in organising a structured sale process and helped facilitate the deal through its track record in the testing & inspection market.

The Deal

A-Katsastus is a Finnish provider of vehicle inspection services. At the time of the transaction, it had approx. 900 employees, EUR 67m in revenues and more than 150 inspection stations in Finland.

Applus+ had made a strategic decision to exit the market in Finland and A-Katsastus emerged as the preferred buyer for K1 Katsastus in the sale process.

The Target

With its approx. 85 stations and EUR 14m in revenues, K1 Katsastus is one of the leading vehicle inspection service providers in Finland. In addition to passenger car inspections, K1 Katsastus offers heavy vehicle services, registrations, condition checks and product sales, among others.
