MCF acted as financial adviser to the owners of Olofsson Bil on the sale of Olofsson Bil and Olofsson Däckcenter to Bilia

MCF is pleased to announce that it has acted as exclusive financial adviser to the owners of Olofsson Bil on the sale of Olofsson Bil and Olofsson Däckcenter to Bilia.

Olofsson Bil, a Stockholm-based car dealership and full-service operation for Volkswagen Group with a turnover of approximately EUR 120m, has been sold to Bilia, a publicly listed car dealership. Olofsson Bil is in a strong position to continue its journey as a highly successful Volkswagen car dealership, with Bilia as a new and experienced owner to support the company’s management and employees.

MCF assisted the owners of Olofsson Bil to identify the ideal partner for the company’s future direction. This transaction adds to MCF’s strong track record of advising owners in structured and value-maximising sell-side transactions.

The Deal

After operating as a family business for nearly 60 years, Olofsson Bil’s owners have decided to sell the company to Bilia, a leading provider of car ownership services. With Bilia as new owner, the Olofsson family has ensured a strong and market leading new owner, who will continue to serve Olofsson Bil’s customers and employees. The acquisition allows Bilia to double its market share in the Volkswagen Group in Sweden and adds five strategically located facilities to its network, strengthening its presence in the market.

The Target

Founded in 1966, Olofsson Bil is a leading local car dealership in the southern Stockholm region with a strong reputation in the market. Supplied by Volkswagen Group, Olofsson Bil sells new Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat and Cupra cars, as well as Volkswagen transport vehicles. The offering also include sale of used cars and aftermarket services, including associated tire services. The company operates out of five facilities in Haninge and Nacka.
