MCF advises UPM on the acquisition of AMC AG

UPM Raflatac, a leading labelling specialist, has signed an agreement to acquire AMC AG Advanced Methods of Coating (“AMC” or “the Company”), a German provider of sensitive filmic label stock and Viscom/Graphics materials under the Intercoat brand, and removable self-adhesive stationery products under the brand names Global Notes and Print Inform. UPM Raflatac accelerates its growth in label materials and enters new product segments by acquiring AMC AG.

In this industrial transaction, MCF acted as an adviser to UPM throughout the process and helped facilitate the deal through its proven ability to successfully execute cross-border transactions.

The Deal

UPM Raflatac has signed an agreement to acquire AMC AG (Advanced Methods of Coating). With this acquisition, UPM continues on its strategic path, adding to its organic growth in the specialty packaging materials sector. The transaction strengthens the company’s transformation and creates long-term value in one of its three growth areas.

AMC AG has two production sites in Kaltenkirchen and Hagenow in Northern Germany. AMC’s business includes coating of pressure-sensitive filmic label stock and Viscom/Graphics materials under the Intercoat brand, and removable self-adhesive stationery products under the brand names Global Notes and Print Inform. The company employs more than 300 people.
