MCF advises Varenne AB on the divestment of Pema Sweden AB to Jobandtalent Sweden AB
Varenne AB, has divested Pema Sweden AB (“Pema”), a pioneer in the blue-collar staffing sector, to Jobandtalent Sweden AB (“Jobandtalent”), a Spanish temporary staffing platform with investors including Softbank, Blackrock and Atomico. The transaction enables Jobandtalent to establish their staffing marketplace solution in Sweden by partnering up with a strong local player with extensive expertise within the market. MCF acted as adviser to Varenne AB, as well as minority owners of Pema, and helped to facilitate a successful transaction through its proven ability to originate and execute transactions within the business services segment.
The Deal
Jobandtalent is a Spanish based digital temporary staffing agency, with presence in eight countries in Europe and South America. The Company offers an on-demand staffing marketplace, matching the right talent with the right job based on machine learning. Investors in Jobandtalent include Softbank, Blackrock and Atomico. In this transaction MCF supported Varenne and the minority owners in identifying a suitable new owner to foster Pema’s position in the staffing market. The acquisition of Pema adds a growth platform for Jobandtalent to create an on-demand staffing marketplace in Sweden, which is in line with their international growth strategy.
The Target
Pema, founded in 1997, offers specialised blue-collar staffing solutions and contracting services in lots of different areas, including industry, warehousing and logistics. Through offering unique tailored staffing solutions Pema has grown substantially over the last years and today has approx. 1,300 employees. Based in Norrköping, Pema has a stronghold in Östergötland and eastern Sweden, with local presence in Western and Southern Sweden as well.
