MCF advises PEQ on the disposal of Veddestagruppen to Aditro Logistics, Posti Group’s Swedish subsidiary
PEQ Invest AB (“PEQ”), the Stockholm-based private equity firm, has disposed of Veddestagruppen AB (“Veddestagruppen”), a leading contract logistics partner to Aditro Logistics, Posti Group’s Swedish subsidiary. Through this transaction, Veddestagruppen will benefit from being part of a larger player within the logistics sector. MCF acted as adviser to PEQ, leveraging its expertise in the industry. The transaction is another deal within the logistics sector and adds to MCF’s strong track record of delivering lasting value to our clients.
The Deal
Posti Group is Finland’s leading postal and logistics service company with roots dating back to the 17th century. In February 2020, Posti acquired Aditro Logistics, a Swedish end-to-end logistics and fulfilment provider, to strengthen its presence in Sweden and Norway. The acquisition of Veddestagruppen will accelerate Aditro Logistics’ transition into a strong fulfilment player within eCommerce and enhance their position within B2B. Their similar business models will further allow realised synergies such as increased flexibility and scalability within the Stockholm and Mälardalen region. For Posti Group, the acquisition of Veddestagruppen is in line with its strategic goals of growing the parcel and logistics business in Finland, Sweden, and the Baltics. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value.
The Target
Veddestagruppen was established in 1992 as a logistics provider. Since conception, it has extended its offering, resulting in operations within four business areas; Distribution/3PL, Transportation, Value add & Field services, and Staffing & Recruiting. The most recently introduced service consists of Freight forwarding, which adds value to the current customer base. The company provides unique tailor-made logistics solutions to customers of a logistically complex nature and employs around 300 people. With its well-developed service offering, Veddestagruppen is an excellent strategic fit for Aditro Logistics and Posti Group.
