The Deal

KFP will join the BKW Engineering network which, in the context of a succession arrangement, provides the company with opportunities to further develop and adapt their service offering to increasingly larger and more complex projects in the fields of building construction, energy and infrastructure.

Through the acquisition, BKW Engineering will benefit from the extended geographical presence in Northern Germany and furthermore deepen its in-depth knowledge to strengthen its current service offering.

The Target

KFP, founded in 1972 and headquartered in Buxtehude, Germany, is one of the leading civil engineering companies in Northern Germany. The company offers a diverse set of services, ranging from structural engineering, construction physics and fire protection to testing and technical expert services. These “engineering services from a single source” range from the subsequent adaptation of buildings (construction in existing buildings) to the new construction of large-scale projects all over Germany, Austria and Switzerland (D-A-CH).

About BKW Engineering

BKW Engineering unites over 35 companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland under one roof and offers integrated solutions in the fields of infrastructure, environment and energy, and acts as a competent partner to its customers throughout all project phases. BKW Engineering is part of BKW AG, a listed Switzerland-based international energy and infrastructure company with CHF 2.7 billion in sales. The group employs over 8,000 people and is building and operating energy producing assets, in particular renewable energy, as well as power grids supplying its commercial and residential customers. BKW Engineering, through acquisitions, is looking to become the largest building engineering service provider in D-A-CH.
