MCF supports logistics company Kube & Kubenz on add-on acquisition
Kube & Kubenz, a German logistics company focused on the transport of liquid hazardous goods and naturally harmless chemicals, has acquired one of its smaller competitors. Due to its customer base – including renowned chemical producers and distributors – the company is an attractive add-on for Kube & Kubenz. MCF provided a comprehensive market screening for suitable add-on acquisitions and facilitated the transaction by arranging an exclusive bilateral process with the target’s owners.
The Deal
Founded in 1930, Kube & Kubenz turned into one of the most renowned and modern specialist carriers in Europe and seeks to further grow via means of acquisitions. In order to accelerate its growth, it mandated MCF to conduct a comprehensive market screening for suitable add-on acquisitions within the DACH region. As a result, MCF identified and approached 50 targets, among which the now acquired company. MCF managed to arrange an exclusive bilateral process with the target’s owners. Subsequently, MCF advised Kube & Kubenz in all phases of the transaction, including the due diligence and valuation as well as the transaction documentation. In addition, MCF took a leading role in the SPA negotiations. The target’s former majority owner kept a minority share and will stay aboard as managing director to jointly drive further growth.
